An unusual, highly collectible men's vintage watch fob designed and made in the form of a monkey wrench. Dating to c1925, the wrench is all original. The handle is carved bone; the wrench body is made of metal and is nicely detailed. In very good condition. 1 5/8"L

We have collectors of fobs who wear them as pendants or us them as charms for bracelets. We have collectors who make brooches of them. We also have doll collectors who gather up the tiniest fobs to use as doll jewelry.

An interesting history tidbit: Solymon Merrick of Springfield, Massachusetts, patented the first wrench in 1835. Charles Moncky, a Baltimore mechanic, invented the monkey wrench c1858. Moncky’s wrench was named after its inventor, misspelling of his name purposely for more efficient and effective marketing.
