A mystery suit.  Is it for a child or for a doll?  If it is for a child, it would be a terribly thin child. The waist of the skirt is only 13 1/2", end to end.  If it is for a doll, it's for a tall doll. The length of the skirt is 17" and the jacket, 10".  Whatever this piece was created for, it is delightful. What we love most about it is its fabric.  A strongly woven linen or linen cotton blend, it is hand painted in squiggles, lines and dots. We also love the lace decoration along the jacket neckline and cuffs. We also love the wide ruffle on the skirt.

Machine and hand stitched, with hand stitched button holes and hemming of the edges. Unlined.  Jacket: chest 22"; waist 22"; length of sleeve from shoulder seam to hem 12". Skirt: waist 13 1/2"; length 17"; hips full. In outstanding condition with only a bit of soiling to the lace collar, which looks like it will come out with proper laundering.
