Unpicked from a Victorian gown, this is a very fine flounce in a complete circle with seam. We think the lace is Schiffli. In lovely condition, nice and soft. The white of the lace has mellowed to a cream over the ages. At its widest in front, the flounce is 8" wide. It narrows to 4" in the back. Sewn to form a circle measuring a circumference of 50". Early fabrics and laces such as this are the magnificent details that add so much to today's often stark fashions. This particular flounce would do well for doll clothing, too. We have a matching flounce, also, slightly narrower, slightly longer. It is listed for sale on this page. Free USA Shipping.
