An interesting piece found on a recent buying trip to England. From a military collector, this early clipboard with distinctive rusted iron swivel clips, one on each side and two at the bottom. The clips hold a thick piece of early plastic in place. The plastic in turn holds a 10 page manual from Blanche Lower & Son. It says: On Loan Only, Driver Mechanic Course Section Diesel Engines. There are no pictures or diagrams, just text explaining Fuel Pump & Workings, Filtration, The Governor, Nozzle Maintenance, Trouble in Service, etc. The canvas strap on the exterior has fitted pockets for pins and small items. Double snap closure and adjustable shoulder strap. 11" tall to the bag itself, 9" wide and about 1/4" thick. The shoulder strap measures about 45" long. There is a double snap closure on the flap at the bottom. Places for 8 pens and or pencils, scrap paper and small tool. In good condition, very sturdy and strong, with anticipated surface soiling that is minor, not overwhelming. This is a true little gem of military history.
