Who among us hasn't dreamt of going on a Hemingway-esque adventure, a run-in with something with big horns, a chase with the bulls, a conflab with a herd of water buffalo? Here is a manly tankard beautiful enough to be womanly, too. Even Hemingway would approve.
This large tankard was made from the horn of a water buffalo. The handle is an antler. Mounted with nickled brass. From the second quarter 20th century and shows Art Deco influence.
Exceptional, unusual; an impressive piece with impeccable presence. Outstanding condition. 4 1/2"T; base is 4". Be brave. Fill it with something strong and foamy and toast life.
