For the cowboy bowler (or any other bowler, or any other cowboy afficianado), an amazing hand made leather bowling ball bag, tooled with bowling pins, a bowling ball, horseshoes (for luck at the lanes) and a flowing pattern of cactus flowers (all the prettier to look at). The leather is thick, rich and supple with an excellent patina and healthy flexibility. All parts are original. Within the bag is a set-in ring to hold the ball securely. At the side bottom, a tunnel door leads to a shoe-storage compartment. As if all that wasn't enough, there is a windowed pocket in which to slide your driver's license, your cowpoke's license, your sheriff's badge or your little black book.
The interior is unlined and the back of the leather showing inside is clean, strong and unmarred. The leather handles are held in place with shield-shaped plackets and there are brass fittings throughout. Zippers, one at the top and one around the tunnel door for the shoe storage compartment, are brass and they work beautifully. The bag's edges are wrapped in leather strips. There are metal ball feet attached to the bottom.
This bag, all by itself, weighs about 5 1/2 pounds. It stands 14 1/2" tall with the handles down, 14" wide and 9 1/2" deep. The bag is in exceptionally fine condition. Correct and anticipated wear patterns are mild, with a bit of soiling to the handles where hands would have held on, and a few little breaks in the edge wrapping.
A terrific bag for that terrific bowler in your life.
