One of our favorite "gemstones", goldstone is man-made and has a long history. Also known as aventurine glass, one early manufacturing process was invented in 17thC Venice. Documentation shows that there were other, earlier artisans also able to create goldstone. This glittering glass stone can take a smooth polish and can be cut so well, it is often mistaken for natural stone.
Our pin is unmarked and tests as 12-14kt. However, wear patterns show that this is most likely 12-14kt gold fill. Good gold fill was primarily used with goldstone gems up until the early 20thC, when it became more common practice to use solid gold. 2"L. Free USA shipping, handling, insurance.
