Victorians thought the acorn symbolic of luck and immortality. It was considered a charm against lightning. (Did you ever wonder about Victorian bedposts with finials carved as acorns?) You'll see the acorn motif used in jewelry, furniture making, embroidery and art. Our handsome watch fob is solid sterling silver. When you unscrew the cap of the acorn, you'll find a small, marvelous telescopic cigarette holder with a carved bone mouthpiece inside. What a wonder! The body of the acorn is marked Austria and Sterling. The fob is 1 1/4" long, not including the ring for the chain.
We have gentlemen customers with fob collections to both admire and to wear. We have lady customers who love to use fobs as pendants and charms. This little dandy can be displayed with pride and worn with confidence. It is sturdy and the cap screws on and off as it should. We are unsure how well the cigarette holder works. It fits together a bit loosely.
All in all, this acorn fob is original and in very good condition with just a few dings to the acorn body near the cap. Free USA Shipping
