They date to c1910 and were made for a child. From appearances, they were worn by a tough little toddler, but only for Sunday Best. They are in good condition, but you can tell the little feet in these shoes wriggled and waggled, probably incessantly. Machine stitched seams; original buttons, all present and accounted for. Leather all over, still supple and in good shape, save for one little line of shallow surface digs on the vamp of the shoe to the left in our photo.Leather soles stitched in place and in good shape. Inside the shoe on the fabric lining are printed the numbers 38, then 2994. We can find no other identification. We love the wear pattern of the backs of these shoes, as shown by their silhouettes in our last picture. 5 1/2"L X 3"H Was $80, now $60.
