Every one that has seen this original woodblock print hanging in our living room at Home Farm has fallen in love with it. In its original glazed frame, it is signed by the artist, Fannie Rebekah Mennen (1903-1995). Mrs. Mennen was a recognized printmaker and watercolor painter, a teacher, a professional artist and founder of the Plum Nellie Clothesline Art Shows in TN.

The Girls Dormitory wood block, whose subject is the life of chickens in their chicken coop, is strong and clean cut. It has not been damaged by the years, other than a bit of "gathering" to an area at the very top edge of the paper along the line where it was glued, and an even, overall mellowing of the background color of the print and the color of the matte to a rich butter cream. In very fine condition, with just some dust collected beneath the glass. This is a joyous composition! 17 1/4" X 14 1/2" X 5/8" framed image.
